Winner of Miss California Rodeo Salinas 2022 announced Saturday

The winner of the Miss California Rodeo Salinas 2022 has been announced. The woman now taking the reigns of the coveted title is Mayson Bothwell, of King City. She will receive a $3,000 cash scholarship to be used at the college of her choice, a gold and silver trophy belt buckle, the use of a two-horse trailer for one year and the honor of wearing the Miss California Rodeo Salinas gold and silver tiara.Mason is from a fifth-generation California family and is originally from Livermore but now lives near King City. She is pursuing a degree in Agricultural Business at Cuesta College with the goal of becoming a Cattle Brand Inspector. She was also a member of the Future Farmers of America. She has competed in High School and Norcal Jr. Rodeo with many successes in the barrel racing event. Mayson will travel to events including rodeos, parades and other community celebrations throughout California representing the California Rodeo Salinas as an ambassador for the event and western lifestyle. To win the title, contestants are judged on horsemanship personality appearance and scholarship by a panel of judges. The California Rodeo Salinas will take place July 21 to 24.
