SEASIDE — In need of some defensive depth, Monterey Bay F.C. has signed former San Jose Earthquake Hunter Gorskie for this weekend’s road game at Orange County.
Gorskie, who began the season with Orange County, will be reunited with Union head coach Frank Yallop, whom he played for with the Earthquakes in 2013.
The 31-year-old defender has spent time in the United Soccer League with Tampa Bay, San Antonio FC, FC Edmonton and Orange County, scoring five goals in 45 matches for Tampa Bay between 2017-2018.
He also played for the Danish club Thisted FC, where he was a teammate of current Union standout Chase Boone — the team leader in goals this year with seven.
Gorskie was the team captain at Stanford during his junior and senior seasons, earning all-Pac 12 honors in helping the team to the NCAA tournament.
