WE BEGIN TONIGHT WITH A SHARK ATTACK IN THE WATER OFF LOVER’S POINT IN PACIFIC GROVE. NEW VIDEO TONIGHT OF THE VICTIM BEING BROUGHT TO SHORE. A GROUP OF PEOPLE RUN INTO THE WATER. THE VICTIM IS LAYING ON WHAT APPEARS TO BE A SURFBOARD. ONCE ON THE SAND…FIRST RESPONDERS ARRIVE. THE MAN WAS BADLY INJURED AND IS NOW AT THE TRAUMA CENTER AT NATIVIDAD MEDICAL CENTER IN SALINAS.#### LOVER’S POINT AND SOME NEARBY BEACHES ARE CLOSED AS A RESULT OF THIS SHARK ATTACK. OUR TEAM HAS BEEN FOLLOWING THIS STORY ALL DAY. FELIX CORTEZ IS STANDING BY WITH THOSE GOOD SAMARITANS WHO STEPPED IN TO HELP THE SWIMMER. WE’LL GET TO HIM IN A MINUTE. WE START WITH ACTION NEWS EIGHT REPORTER CHRISTIAN BALDERAS LIVE IN PACIFIC GROVE.#### DAN…RESIDENTS, FIRST RESPONDERS AND TOURISTS WERE SHOCKED THIS MORNING WHEN THEY DISCOVERED A SWIMMER ABOUT 200 YARDS FROM THE SHORE BLEEDING. A MAN, SWIMMING IN THE OPEN OCEAN WEDNESDAY MORNING SUSTAINED SERIOUS INJURIES – WHEN A SHARK TOOK A BITE OF HIS ARM, LEG AND STOMACH. 20:22-20:30Ñ <HE WAS BLEEDING OUT OF HIS TORSO, THERE WAS SOME BLOOD AND IT LOOKED LIKE MAINLY HIS TORSO WAS BIT.> PACIFIC GROVE POLICE, MONTEREY FIRE AND AMERICAN MEDIAL RESPONSE RESPONDED TO THE ATTACK AT 10:30 WEDNESDAY MORNING. AND WITH THE HELP OF SOME GOOD SAMARITANS, PULLED HIM OUT OF THE WATER. <THERE WAS A SWIMMER OUT THERE AND HE WAS SCREAMING FOR HELP THEN SOME PADDLEBOARDERS WENT OUT THERE BROUGHT HIM ON THE BOARD AND THEN PARAMEDICS CAME AND TOOK HIM AWAY> THE COAST GUARD WENT OUT ON THE WATER AND THE MONTEREY AND SEASIDE FIRE DEPARTMENT DEPLOYED A DRONE TO SEARCH THE AREA FOR THE SHARK BUT WERE UNABLE TO LOCATE IT. STILL BEACH CLOSURES IN PACIFIC GROVE WERE IMPLEMENTED ALONG WITH A WARNING ACROSS THE PENINSULA’S COAST. BUT THAT ISN’T SCARING SOME TOURISTS FROM ENJOYING THE WATER. THE MOST RECENT SHARK ATTACK HAPPENED IN CAPITOLA LAST YEAR, BUT HERE IN PACIFIC GROVE, A SHARK ATTACK, LET ALONE AN ATTACK, IS RARE. Steve Bruemmer was attacked by a shark while swimming near Lovers Point in Pacific Grove, on Wednesday. Bruemmer is a member of a local swimming club that swims off of Lovers Point most days of the week.

Good Samaritans rushed to his aid, pulled him out of the water, and administered first aid. Bruemmer was taken to a trauma center in Salinas.
