Three suspects arrested in Monterey for weapons, drugs

MONTEREY — A trio of suspects were arrested Tuesday in Monterey and were booked into Monterey County Jail on suspicion of possessing illegal weapons and drugs, Monterey police reported.

At about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Monterey police officers were sent to the 1200 block of Munras Avenue following a report of people trespassing inside a hotel room. When police arrived they found three people in a room that was not registered in their name.

A search turned up a loaded handgun with no serial number, a 30-round high-capacity magazine, heroin, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and fake identification, police allege.

Arrested were Kimmyn Kadera of Bakersfield, Rey Limosnero of Marina and Shaunne Katoa also of Marina.

Kadera was arrested for suspicion of possessing a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia and booked into Monterey County Jail and then released on a citation.

Limosnero was arrested for a probation violation, false identification, misappropriation of property and possession of drug paraphernalia. He also had an outstanding felony warrant and as of Friday remained in custody.

Katoa was arrested on a parole violation, a felon in possession of a weapon, a felon in possession of ammunition, possession of a high-capacity magazine and possession of drug paraphernalia. As of Friday, he remained in custody.
