Santa Cruz native earns new contract with Sunderland A.F.C.

Santa Cruz footballer Lynden Gooch has agreed to a two-year contract to stay with English soccer club Sunderland A.F.C. Gooch said, “This is important for my family and I because this is our home. I’ve been here for 10 years as a professional and I’m really pleased that we are all going to be here for another two years.”The right-wing back grew up in Santa Cruz before moving to England at 16 years old to pursue his career in professional soccer.Gooch helped lead Sunderland to a promotion to the EFL Championship this season.
