President of CHISPA dies in car crash

The president and CEO of Community Housing Improvement Systems and Planning Association (CHISPA) died in a car crash in Salinas. Alfred Diaz-Infante had been the head of CHISPA for nearly 24 years and was a Salinas native. Diaz-Infante attended Hartnell College before transferring to Sacramento State and UC Berkeley. He has served as a Hartnell College Foundation board member from 2007 to 2017 and as President from 2011 to 2015. He was also a former SVMHS board member. CHISPA describes itself as the largest private, nonprofit housing developer based in Monterey County.
