Man arrested for trying to rob a bank in Salinas
A man was arrested for trying to rob a bank in Salinas, police reported on Wednesday. According to police, Daniel Turcotte, 66, entered the Wells Fargo Bank located in the Safeway on North Main Street around 11:35 a.m. He handed a note to the teller demanding money. The bank teller triggered the silent alarm and stalled him until police could arrive. Turcotte also had a warrant for parole violation, police said. He was booked at Monterey County Jail for bank robbery and the warrant.
