A homeless encampment burning in south Gilroy was put out quickly by the city fire department Saturday morning. Fire firefighters responded to the fire around 11:30 this morning to the fire on Monterey Street and it was contained in about 10 minutes. The fire was enclosed to a space of about 50×50 feet. Crews stayed on hand for about 40 minutes to monitor and clear the debris.
