It’s week 3 of High School Playbook Blitz on the Central Coast! Santa Cruz defeats Watsonville, 42-0 The Cardinals secure the win in this old rivalry. Santa Cruz running back Qwentin Brown rushes for 210 yards on just 13 carries. The senior finished with two touchdowns and did not play in the fourth quarter. Aptos defeats Palma, 47-42 The Mariners narrowly outrun Palma in a high-scoring game at Aptos High School. Soquel defeats Harbor, 42-0 The Soquel Knights get their first win of the season in a shutout victory over Harbor. The Pirates fall to 2-1. Monterey defeats North County, 41-0 The Toreadores win their third game in a row. The Monterey defense has only allowed 12 points over the first three games of the year. St. Francis defeated by Mission College Prep, 42-7 The Sharks leave San Luis Obispo with a loss. This sends them to 0-3 on the season. The team’s lone touchdown came on a run by Kyle Dyer. Hollister defeats Christopher, 10-3 The Haybalers extend their unbeaten streak to three games. The Cougars are now 1-2.Salinas defeats Monte Vista Christian, 46-8: The Salinas Cowboys get a big win in their first home game of the season. The Cowboys are now 2-0. Alvarez defeats Seaside, 27-13: The Eagles improve to 2-0 on the season. Alvarez kick returner Jaiden Brown returned the second half’s opening kickoff 97 yards for a touchdown. Seaside falls to 0-3. Greenfield defeats Gonzales, 33-25: The Bruins snap a 13 game non-league losing streak with a win over the Spartans. Greenfield defensive back Anthony Morales made the play of the night returning an interception 101 yards for a Bruins’ touchdown. Gonzales is now 0-2 on the season. San Lorenzo Valley beats Richmond, 30-28
