Heat Advisory Expires, But a Slight Chance of Thunderstorms Tomorrow

GOOD EVENING. IT WAS A HOT ONE TODAY… MANY OF OUR MOUNTAIN AND VALLEY CITIES WERE IN THE TRIPLE DIGITS. THE HOTTEST LOCATION WAS SAN JUAN BAUTISTA AT 109 DEGREES. EVEN THE COAST WAS WARM THOUGH WITH SANTA CRUZ REACHING 97. IT’S STILL FAIRLY WARM OUT THERE AND MANY OF OUR CITIES ARE 10-20 DEGREES WARMER THAN AT THIS TIME YESTERDAY. ALL THIS HEAT IS DUE TO THE HIGH PRESSURE SYSTEM THAT IS DIRECTLY OVER CALIFORNIA. IT HAS BEEN STRENGTHENING FOR A NUMBER OF DAYS AND THE PEAK OF THE WARMING TREND WAS THIS AFTERNOON. THE INLAND AREAS WILL COOL DOWN BY ABOUT 5- 10 DEGREES TOMORROW, WHILE THE COAST DROPS BACK INTO A MORE COMFORTABLE RANGE. IT IS ALSO NICE TO SEE THE HEAT ADVISORY IS SET TO EXPIRE AT 10 PM TONIGHT. THE MOST INTERESTING PART OF OUR FORECAST IS THE CUTOFF LOW THAT IS MOVING UP THE COAST OF CALIFORNIA. THIS WILL BRING IN SOME MONSOONAL MOISTURE TOMORROW AND EVEN A SLIGHT CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS. WHILE CHANCES ARE ONLY 10-20%, WE’LL KEEP AN EYE ON THIS AS ANY LIGHTNING COULD POTENTIALLY CREATE SOME FIRE HAZARDS. OVERALL, EXPECT COOLER TEMPERATURES (ALTHOUGH STILL ABOVE AVERAGE), AND KEEP AN EYE ON THE CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS. .### GOOD EVENING.
