Firefighters are working to stop a fire burning in northern Castroville. The fire is burning near Highway 156 near Del Monte Avenue. The sheriff’s office is reporting that the fire was started by fireworks. No structures were threatened. According to the California Highway Patrol, the slow lane of eastbound Highway 156 has been closed as fire crews work to stop the spread of the fire.
