Fire burning on Chews Ridge, air attack responding

A fire has broken out in an area south of Carmel Valley in hard-to-access terrain. According to Cal Fire, the fire is burning on Chews Ridge, near White Oaks Campground. As of 3 p.m., the fire had burned an estimated two acres. Air crews were already working to douse the fire and an additional helicopter were on the way to assist with the fire attack.
