County warns of sinkhole near Nacimiento Lake entrance

A water line break has created a sinkhole near the Lake Nacimiento Resort entrance according to an alert released by Monterey County. The County also warned motorists should be cautious in the area.

The hole is in the southbound lane of Nacimiento Lake Drive and as of 4 p.m. Saturday was 4 feet wide and 3 to 4 feet deep.

The County of Monterey Public Works crew have barricaded the area around the sinkhole and there are warning signs for motorists before they reach the problem area according to the County press release.
