Central Coast Track Club to send eight athletes to Junior Olympics

Eight athletes from the Central Coast Track Club have advanced to the USA Track and field Junior Olympics, slated for July 25-31 at Sacramento State.

Headlining the list was Emma Franks, who advanced in both the long jump (15-feet-9) and triple jump, setting set a personal best of 34-9 in finishing second at the Pacific Regional meet in Modesto.

Bella Martinez, a CCS qualifier in the 100 hurdles last spring for Notre Dame, finished third overall in the javelin with a mark of 92-6.

Jack Nolan took third in the pole vault with a personal best of 11-9, while Jenna Emmerson was fourth in the 400 low hurdles (71.25) and Izzy Barrett fifth in the discus (103-6).

Jessica Lane, Emily Orozco and Quinn Eastman all advanced in the high jump in their respective age divisions.
