CCS champion Monterey baseball and softball teams to be honored with parade

The City of Monterey will host a parade to celebrate the Central Coast Section champion Toreadores baseball and softball teams on June 16 at 4 p.m.

Monterey ran off 10 straight wins to capture its first section Division III baseball title in 11 years, while the softball team came out as the No. 8 seed in Division II to claim the first CCS title for any girls’ sports program on campus.

The softball team closed the season with 10 straight wins, capping the year by winning the Northern California Division IV title.

The parade route will be from Monterey High School, down Madison Ave, onto Alvarado Street, and back to Monterey High via Calle Principal.
