Another sunny, warm day on the Central Coast

TEMPERATURES ARE FORECAST THROUGH THE WEEK AS THE MARINE LAYER BRINGS LOW CLOUDS COVER EACH NIGHT. HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE DESERT SOUTHWEST WILL STRENGTHEN OVER THE WEEKEND PROVIDING A SUBTLE WARMING AND DRYING TREND, MAINLY FOR INTERIOR AREAS. THE BAY AREA AND CENTRAL COAST REMAINS BETWEEN AN UPPER LEVEL LOW OFF THE NORCAL COAST AND THE PERSISTENT RIDGE OVER THE FOUR CORNERS. NOT MUCH CHANGE IN TEMPERATURES COMPARED TO 24 HOURS AGO WITH TEMPS CURRENTLY IN THE MID 50S TO LOW 60S ACROSS THE REGION. NIGHTTIME SATELLITE IMAGERY SHOWS STRATUS REDEVELOPMENT NEAR THE COASTLINE. WITH A DEEP MARINE LAYER (AT AROUND 2500 FEET) , STRATUS HAS BEEN ABLE TO INTRUDE INLAND WITH PLACES LIKE SFO AIRPORT ALREADY UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF STRATUS. LOW CLOUD COVER WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE INLAND THROUGH THE MORNING HOURS AS WELL AS THE CHANCE FOR SOME PATCHY FOG DEVELOPMENT IN VALLEY AREAS. WITH THIS, TEMPERATURES TODAY WILL FEEL SIMILAR TO HOW THEY DID YESTERDAY. HIGH TEMPERATURES NEAR THE COAST WILL BE IN THE LOW TO MID 70S WHILE FURTHER INLAND WILL BE IN THE MID 80S. HOTTEST SPOTS WILL BE IN SOUTHERN MONTEREY COUNTY WHERE TEMPS WILL AGAIN BE IN THE MID TO UPPER 90S. THE AFOREMENTIONED LOW WILL BEGIN LIFTING NORTHWARD TOWARDS THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST THROUGH THE WEEK. THIS WILL NOT AFFECT OUR SENSIBLE WEATHER MUCH, BUT A SLIGHT WARMING AND DRYING TREND WILL BEGIN IN THE INTERIOR PORTIONS OF OUR REGION AS HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS IN FROM THE WEST. THIS WARMING TREND WILL BE GRADUAL AND BY THURSDAY, TEMPERATURES IN THE INTERIOR NORTH BAY AND EAST BAY REGIONS ARE MORE LIKELY TO HIT 90 DEGREES. WITH THE INCREASED INFLUENCE OF THE HIGH PRESSURE SYSTEM TO OUR EAST, COULD START TO SEE THE MARINE LAYER COMPRESS THIS WEEK AS WELL.
